Dugi niz godina vitrine s trofejima Košarkaškog kluba Zadar nije bilo potrebno otvarati. A onda su trener Danijel Jusup i njegovi dečki u veljači prošle godine odlučili reći dosta. Pred vlastitim navijačima u Krešinu domu osvojili su baš njegov trofej – Kup Krešimira Ćosića. Vratili su ga kući nakon što su ga 13 godina ljubomorno čuvali zagrebački klubovi Cedevita, Cibona i Zagreb.

Na završnom turniru Zadrani su u četvrtfinalu riješili gradskog rivala Sonik, potom u polufinalu Split i u finalu najvećeg rivala Cibonu (89:76), zasluživši time mjesto među nominiranima u našem izboru za Sportsko ime Dalmacije.

O, kako je to bilo potrebno zadarskom puku. Posljednji trofej prije toga njihovi su ljubimci osvojili 2008. kad su postali prvaci Hrvatske, tada još u Jazinama. Mnoge su generacije navijača u međuvremenu odrasle, čak i ostarjele u iščekivanju novog uspinjanja na najviše postolje. I eto, dočekale su ga. Napokon je Zadar prekinuo svojevrsno prokletstvo Višnjika budući da mu je ovo bio prvi pokal otkako je preselio u novo, velebno zdanje.

Koliko je taj trofej značio Zadranima dovoljno će vam reći kadrovi finalnog dana. Već satima prije početka finala Tornado se počeo okupljati po raznim punktovima u gradu, kao i u šatoru pored Višnjika. U dvorani ih se natiskalo oko devet tisuća, a neki će reći i deset. Čovjek na čovjeku. Nema tko nije htio svjedočiti povijesti.

Iako, u 24. minuti nije izgledalo da će imati što vidjeti. Cibona je tada vodila 54:44, a onda se zadarsko srce probudilo. U prvom redu Dominik Mavra koji je povukao svoju momčad do preokreta i konačne pobjede. Utakmicu je Mavra završio s 20 poena i devet skokova, dovoljno za epitet MVP-a cijelog turnira.

- Noć prije finala nisam mogao spavati. Sve na preskoke, zaspeš dvadesetak minuta pa se probudiš i kreneš razmišljati kako bi bilo lijepo uzeti trofej. I uspjeli smo u tome, našoj sreći stvarno nije bilo kraja kad smo vidjeli da nam Cibona nakon podosta vremena jednostavno ne može ništa – govorio je tada Mavra, rođeni Zadranin koji je tek u 26. godini života zaigrao za prvu momčad svoga kluba.

Kao domaćeg momka svladale su ga emocije, ali nije bio jedini. Jusup je također Zadranin, kao i kapetan Ive Ivanov... Oni su posebno emotivno proživjeli cijelu tu priču.

Slavlje se s Višnjika tijekom večeri preselilo na središnju pozornicu u gradu, na Narodnom trgu, ondje gdje se uvijek slavilo zadarske uspjehe. Igrači su pozdravili okupljeno mnoštvo s balkona Gradske vijećnice, odjekivala je pjesma, palile su se baklje... Da se naježiš. Imat će što Ive i Dominik pričati svojoj djeci.

Sve te slike razdraganih igrača i navijača podsjetile su nas na neka davna vremena kada je Donatov grad slavio velike titule poput naslova prvaka Jugoslavije 1965., 1974., pa i nezaboravne 1986. godine, ali i 2005. te 2008. kada se osvajalo naslov prvaka Hrvatske.

- Onog trenutka kad smo izašli na balkon Gradske vijećnice rekao sam Mavri: Neka smo prijatelju i mi doživjeli ovako nešto. Jer samo se u Zadru zna proslaviti na ovaj način, kad vidiš da je uz tebe praktički cijeli grad. Ne poznajem igrača kojem nije želja barem jednom zaigrati u Zadru, a mi koji smo to imali prigodu više puta dobro znamo što znači igrati i živjeti u gradu košarke – zborio je ponosni kapetan Ivanov.

Osmijehe s lica Zadrana ubrzo je, kao i u ostatku svijeta, nasilno skinula galopirajuća pandemija COVIDA-19 zbog čega se domaće prvenstvo nije dovršilo pa je Kup bio jedini trofej koji se prošle kalendarske godine dodijelio. Nakon što su vratili Kup, Zadrani se nadaju kako je ove godine sazrelo vrijeme da se u njihov grad vrati i onaj najveći trofej, naslov prvaka države.

Dugi niz godina vitrine s trofejima Košarkaškog kluba Zadar nije bilo potrebno otvarati. A onda su trener Danijel Jusup i njegovi dečki u veljači prošle godine odlučili reći dosta. Pred vlastitim navijačima u Krešinu domu osvojili su baš njegov trofej – Kup Krešimira Ćosića. Vratili su ga kući nakon što su ga 13 godina ljubomorno čuvali zagrebački klubovi Cedevita, Cibona i Zagreb.

Na završnom turniru Zadrani su u četvrtfinalu riješili gradskog rivala Sonik, potom u polufinalu Split i u finalu najvećeg rivala Cibonu (89:76), zasluživši time mjesto među nominiranima u našem izboru za Sportsko ime Dalmacije.

O, kako je to bilo potrebno zadarskom puku. Posljednji trofej prije toga njihovi su ljubimci osvojili 2008. kad su postali prvaci Hrvatske, tada još u Jazinama. Mnoge su generacije navijača u međuvremenu odrasle, čak i ostarjele u iščekivanju novog uspinjanja na najviše postolje. I eto, dočekale su ga. Napokon je Zadar prekinuo svojevrsno prokletstvo Višnjika budući da mu je ovo bio prvi pokal otkako je preselio u novo, velebno zdanje.

Koliko je taj trofej značio Zadranima dovoljno će vam reći kadrovi finalnog dana. Već satima prije početka finala Tornado se počeo okupljati po raznim punktovima u gradu, kao i u šatoru pored Višnjika. U dvorani ih se natiskalo oko devet tisuća, a neki će reći i deset. Čovjek na čovjeku. Nema tko nije htio svjedočiti povijesti.

Iako, u 24. minuti nije izgledalo da će imati što vidjeti. Cibona je tada vodila 54:44, a onda se zadarsko srce probudilo. U prvom redu Dominik Mavra koji je povukao svoju momčad do preokreta i konačne pobjede. Utakmicu je Mavra završio s 20 poena i devet skokova, dovoljno za epitet MVP-a cijelog turnira.

- Noć prije finala nisam mogao spavati. Sve na preskoke, zaspeš dvadesetak minuta pa se probudiš i kreneš razmišljati kako bi bilo lijepo uzeti trofej. I uspjeli smo u tome, našoj sreći stvarno nije bilo kraja kad smo vidjeli da nam Cibona nakon podosta vremena jednostavno ne može ništa – govorio je tada Mavra, rođeni Zadranin koji je tek u 26. godini života zaigrao za prvu momčad svoga kluba.

Kao domaćeg momka svladale su ga emocije, ali nije bio jedini. Jusup je također Zadranin, kao i kapetan Ive Ivanov... Oni su posebno emotivno proživjeli cijelu tu priču.

Slavlje se s Višnjika tijekom večeri preselilo na središnju pozornicu u gradu, na Narodnom trgu, ondje gdje se uvijek slavilo zadarske uspjehe. Igrači su pozdravili okupljeno mnoštvo s balkona Gradske vijećnice, odjekivala je pjesma, palile su se baklje... Da se naježiš. Imat će što Ive i Dominik pričati svojoj djeci.

Sve te slike razdraganih igrača i navijača podsjetile su nas na neka davna vremena kada je Donatov grad slavio velike titule poput naslova prvaka Jugoslavije 1965., 1974., pa i nezaboravne 1986. godine, ali i 2005. te 2008. kada se osvajalo naslov prvaka Hrvatske.

- Onog trenutka kad smo izašli na balkon Gradske vijećnice rekao sam Mavri: Neka smo prijatelju i mi doživjeli ovako nešto. Jer samo se u Zadru zna proslaviti na ovaj način, kad vidiš da je uz tebe praktički cijeli grad. Ne poznajem igrača kojem nije želja barem jednom zaigrati u Zadru, a mi koji smo to imali prigodu više puta dobro znamo što znači igrati i živjeti u gradu košarke – zborio je ponosni kapetan Ivanov.

Osmijehe s lica Zadrana ubrzo je, kao i u ostatku svijeta, nasilno skinula galopirajuća pandemija COVIDA-19 zbog čega se domaće prvenstvo nije dovršilo pa je Kup bio jedini trofej koji se prošle kalendarske godine dodijelio. Nakon što su vratili Kup, Zadrani se nadaju kako je ove godine sazrelo vrijeme da se u njihov grad vrati i onaj najveći trofej, naslov prvaka države.

Košarkaši Zadra su nakon 13 godina prekinuli niz zagrebačkih klubova i vratili u svoje vitrine Kup Krešimira Ćosića

Dugi niz godina vitrine s trofejima Košarkaškog kluba Zadar nije bilo potrebno otvarati. A onda su trener Danijel Jusup i njegovi dečki u veljači prošle godine odlučili reći dosta. Pred vlastitim navijačima u Krešinu domu osvojili su baš njegov trofej – Kup Krešimira Ćosića. Vratili su ga kući nakon što su ga 13 godina ljubomorno čuvali zagrebački klubovi Cedevita, Cibona i Zagreb.

Na završnom turniru Zadrani su u četvrtfinalu riješili gradskog rivala Sonik, potom u polufinalu Split i u finalu najvećeg rivala Cibonu (89:76), zasluživši time mjesto među nominiranima u našem izboru za Sportsko ime Dalmacije.

O, kako je to bilo potrebno zadarskom puku. Posljednji trofej prije toga njihovi su ljubimci osvojili 2008. kad su postali prvaci Hrvatske, tada još u Jazinam...
