Smrtonosne bolesti težak su udarac za svaku obitelj, ali za Seba Hughesa su puno više od toga.
Naime tome je dvadesetogodišnjom studentu jedna bolest, tumor mozga, odnijela oca i dva mlađa brata, s kojima je bio vrlo blizak.
U svibnju 2014. umro mu je brat Oscar koji je tada imao samo devet godina. Drugi brat, Milo, imao je samo pet godina kada je preminuo 2021. godine. Iste te godine preminuo je i otac Ian, u dobi od 49 godina.
"Svaki dan je ogromna borba bez tate i braće. Sve što radim je da ih učinim ponosnima i trudim se živjeti punim plućima budući da oni nisu dobili priliku. Ne razumiješ dok ne vidiš iz prve ruke koliko su brutalni tumori mozga, posebno za djecu", rekao je za Mirror Seb Hughes koji je imao samo 10 godina kada je umro Oscar, a 17 kada je preminuo Milo.
Cijela obitelj bila je vlasnik sezonske ulaznice za Old Trafford, Oscar je, dok je bio smrtno bolestan, izveo momčad na teren zajedno s kapetanom Nemanjom Vidićem.

Seb je dobro upućen u tumore na mozgu, napominje da svaki mjesec oko 34 djece dobije takvu dijagnozu, a svako četvrto od njih neće doživjeti još pet godina. On ističe da tumori na mozgu ubijaju više djece i odraslih mlađih od 40 godina nego bilo koji drugi rak.
Međutim Seb i njegova obitelj nisu se pasivno pomirili s teškim stanjem. Deset godina nakon Oscarove smrti, Seb se sprema hodati 21 milju preko Peak Districta zajedno s drugim obiteljima pogođenim tumorima na mozgu. Popet će se na sedam različitih vrhova u samo 10 sati kako bi prikupio sredstva za dobrotvornu udrugu za tumor na mozgu koju je osnovao u Oscarovo ime. Seb, njegov mlađi brat Lucas i njihova mama Marie već su se popeli na Snowdon, Scafell Pike i Ben Nevis. Dvadesetogodišnjak će provesti 60 drugih aktivnosti prikupljanja sredstava za OSCAR-ovu dobrotvornu organizaciju Pediatric Brain Tumor, piše The Sun.

Tumori mozga skraćuju očekivani životni vijek u prosjeku za 27 godina. Postoje dva glavna tipa, pri čemu nekancerogeni benigni tumori rastu sporije i manje je vjerojatno da će se vratiti nakon liječenja. Kancerogeni zloćudni tumori mozga mogu započeti u mozgu ili se tamo proširiti s drugih mjesta u tijelu i veća je vjerojatnost da će se vratiti.
Tumori mozga mogu uzrokovati glavobolje, napadaje, mučninu, povraćanje i probleme s pamćenjem. Oni također mogu dovesti do promjena u osobnoj slabosti ili paralizi na jednoj strani problema i problemima s govorom ili vidom, piše The Sun.

Smrtonosne bolesti težak su udarac za svaku obitelj, ali za Seba Hughesa su puno više od toga.
Naime tome je dvadesetogodišnjom studentu jedna bolest, tumor mozga, odnijela oca i dva mlađa brata, s kojima je bio vrlo blizak.
U svibnju 2014. umro mu je brat Oscar koji je tada imao samo devet godina. Drugi brat, Milo, imao je samo pet godina kada je preminuo 2021. godine. Iste te godine preminuo je i otac Ian, u dobi od 49 godina.
"Svaki dan je ogromna borba bez tate i braće. Sve što radim je da ih učinim ponosnima i trudim se živjeti punim plućima budući da oni nisu dobili priliku. Ne razumiješ dok ne vidiš iz prve ruke koliko su brutalni tumori mozga, posebno za djecu", rekao je za Mirror Seb Hughes koji je imao samo 10 godina kada je umro Oscar, a 17 kada je preminuo Milo.
Cijela obitelj bila je vlasnik sezonske ulaznice za Old Trafford, Oscar je, dok je bio smrtno bolestan, izveo momčad na teren zajedno s kapetanom Nemanjom Vidićem.

Seb je dobro upućen u tumore na mozgu, napominje da svaki mjesec oko 34 djece dobije takvu dijagnozu, a svako četvrto od njih neće doživjeti još pet godina. On ističe da tumori na mozgu ubijaju više djece i odraslih mlađih od 40 godina nego bilo koji drugi rak.
Međutim Seb i njegova obitelj nisu se pasivno pomirili s teškim stanjem. Deset godina nakon Oscarove smrti, Seb se sprema hodati 21 milju preko Peak Districta zajedno s drugim obiteljima pogođenim tumorima na mozgu. Popet će se na sedam različitih vrhova u samo 10 sati kako bi prikupio sredstva za dobrotvornu udrugu za tumor na mozgu koju je osnovao u Oscarovo ime. Seb, njegov mlađi brat Lucas i njihova mama Marie već su se popeli na Snowdon, Scafell Pike i Ben Nevis. Dvadesetogodišnjak će provesti 60 drugih aktivnosti prikupljanja sredstava za OSCAR-ovu dobrotvornu organizaciju Pediatric Brain Tumor, piše The Sun.

Tumori mozga skraćuju očekivani životni vijek u prosjeku za 27 godina. Postoje dva glavna tipa, pri čemu nekancerogeni benigni tumori rastu sporije i manje je vjerojatno da će se vratiti nakon liječenja. Kancerogeni zloćudni tumori mozga mogu započeti u mozgu ili se tamo proširiti s drugih mjesta u tijelu i veća je vjerojatnost da će se vratiti.
Tumori mozga mogu uzrokovati glavobolje, napadaje, mučninu, povraćanje i probleme s pamćenjem. Oni također mogu dovesti do promjena u osobnoj slabosti ili paralizi na jednoj strani problema i problemima s govorom ili vidom, piše The Sun.
