Prvi bulk carrier na svijetu opremljen Wind Challengerom – pogonskim sustavom na vjetar s krutim jedrima – isporučen je i započeo s radom. Brod je zaplovio 7. listopada, objavila je japanska brodarska kompanija Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) u suradnji s tvrtkom Tohoku Electric Power, donosi Pomorac.hr.

Po završetku izgradnje broda, ceremonija imenovanja i primopredaje održana je u Oshima Shipbuildingu, a brod za prijevoz rasutog tereta od 100.422 dwt nazvan je Shofu Maru.

Shofu Maru dug je 235 metara i prvi je brod na svijetu opremljen sustavom Wind Challenger. Koristit će se za transport ugljena iz Australije, Indonezije i Sjeverne Amerike kao poseban brod za Tohoku Electric Power.

Wind Challenger, kojeg su razvili MOL i Oshima Shipbuilding, je sustav koji koristi teleskopsko kruto jedro kako bi se za pogon plovila koristila snaga vjetra. Ugradnjom sustava smanjit će se potrošnja goriva, a time i smanjenjiti utjecaj na okoliš i povećati ekonomska učinkovitost.

MOL i Tohoku očekuju da će Wind Challenger smanjiti emisije stakleničkih plinova (GHG) za oko 5% na rutama Japan-Australija i za 8 posto na rutama Japan- Zapadna obala Sjeverne Amerike, u usporedbi s brodovima istog tipa s konvencionalnim pogonom.

Uz Shofu Maru, MOL je već odlučio izgraditi još jedan bulk carrier opremljen Wind Challengerom. Drugi brod trebao bi biti isporučen 2024. godine i koristit će se za transport drvenih peleta za tvrtku Enviva. Uz sustav krutih jedara Wind Challenger, MOL na ovaj brod također planira implementirati rotirajuća jedra tvrtke Anemoi Marine Technologies, što će smanjiti emisije stakleničkih plinova za oko 20 posto.

Prvi bulk carrier na svijetu opremljen Wind Challengerom – pogonskim sustavom na vjetar s krutim jedrima – isporučen je i započeo s radom. Brod je zaplovio 7. listopada, objavila je japanska brodarska kompanija Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) u suradnji s tvrtkom Tohoku Electric Power, donosi Pomorac.hr.

Po završetku izgradnje broda, ceremonija imenovanja i primopredaje održana je u Oshima Shipbuildingu, a brod za prijevoz rasutog tereta od 100.422 dwt nazvan je Shofu Maru.

Shofu Maru dug je 235 metara i prvi je brod na svijetu opremljen sustavom Wind Challenger. Koristit će se za transport ugljena iz Australije, Indonezije i Sjeverne Amerike kao poseban brod za Tohoku Electric Power.

Wind Challenger, kojeg su razvili MOL i Oshima Shipbuilding, je sustav koji koristi teleskopsko kruto jedro kako bi se za pogon plovila koristila snaga vjetra. Ugradnjom sustava smanjit će se potrošnja goriva, a time i smanjenjiti utjecaj na okoliš i povećati ekonomska učinkovitost.

MOL i Tohoku očekuju da će Wind Challenger smanjiti emisije stakleničkih plinova (GHG) za oko 5% na rutama Japan-Australija i za 8 posto na rutama Japan- Zapadna obala Sjeverne Amerike, u usporedbi s brodovima istog tipa s konvencionalnim pogonom.

Uz Shofu Maru, MOL je već odlučio izgraditi još jedan bulk carrier opremljen Wind Challengerom. Drugi brod trebao bi biti isporučen 2024. godine i koristit će se za transport drvenih peleta za tvrtku Enviva. Uz sustav krutih jedara Wind Challenger, MOL na ovaj brod također planira implementirati rotirajuća jedra tvrtke Anemoi Marine Technologies, što će smanjiti emisije stakleničkih plinova za oko 20 posto.

Prvi bulk carrier na svijetu opremljen Wind Challengerom – pogonskim sustavom na vjetar s krutim jedrima – isporučen je i započeo s radom. Brod je zaplovio 7. listopada, objavila je japanska brodarska kompanija Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) u suradnji s tvrtkom Tohoku Electric Power, donosi Pomorac.hr.

Po završetku izgradnje broda, ceremonija imenovanja i primopredaje održana je u Oshima Shipbuildingu, a brod za prijevoz rasutog tereta od 100.422 dwt nazvan je Shofu Maru.

Shofu Maru dug je 235 metara i prvi je brod na svijetu opremljen sustavom Wind Challenger. Koristit će se za transport ugljena iz Australije, Indonezije i Sjeverne Amerike kao poseban brod za Tohoku Electric Power.

Wind Challenger, kojeg su razvili MOL i Oshima Shipbuilding, je sustav koji koristi teleskopsko kruto jedro kako bi se za pogon plovila koristila snaga vjetra. Ugradnjom sustava smanjit će se potrošnja goriva, a time i smanjenjiti utjecaj na okoliš i povećati ekonomska učinkovitost.

MOL i Tohoku očekuju da će Wind Challenger smanjiti emisije stakleničkih plinova (GHG) za oko 5% na rutama Japan-Australija i za 8 posto na rutama Japan- Zapadna obala Sjeverne Amerike, u usporedbi s brodovima istog tipa s konvencionalnim pogonom.

Uz Shofu Maru, MOL je već odlučio izgraditi još jedan bulk carrier opremljen Wind Challengerom. Drugi brod trebao bi biti isporučen 2024. godine i koristit će se za transport drvenih peleta za tvrtku Enviva. Uz sustav krutih jedara Wind Challenger, MOL na ovaj brod također planira implementirati rotirajuća jedra tvrtke Anemoi Marine Technologies, što će smanjiti emisije stakleničkih plinova za oko 20 posto.
