Titanic. Ne postoji brod koji skriva više priča i tajni. No ovo nije priča o njemu. Ovo je priča o brodu koji mu je prvi pritekao u pomoć. To je Carpathia. Do mjesta potonuća doplovila je 15. travnja 1912. godine oko 4 sata ujutro. Na njoj se našao i jedan istarski mornar koji je spašavao promrzle putnike. Njegovo je ime Mate Kiršić iz malog sela Klapčići blizu Labina, piše HRT.

- Na toj slici je moj nono Mate koji je 1912. bi na brodu Carpathia, kad se spašavalo ljudstvo s Titanica, do njega sjedim ja na rabačkoj plaži, davne 1966. godine. Ispod slike je štap. Nije volio pričati o tome ali pretpostavljamo da je taj štap dobio od nekoga ili je to neka uspomena s tog zadnjeg putovanja spašavanja ljudi s Titanica, kaže Redento Kiršić, unuk Mate Kiršića.

Za svoj doprinos spašavanju putnika, Mate Kiršić odlikovan je ordenom časti austrijske kraljice.

- To je orden za hrabrost kojim su odlikovani svi članovi posade Carpathie, tih ordena je ostalo malo, nekih 4 komada, spominje se i 7, tako da je ovo jedan od rijetkih uspomena na njega i općenito na događaj koji se desio 1912. godine, i kojeg mi čuvamo s ponosom, kao tradiciju naše obitelji, dodaje Kiršić.

Mate Kiršić na Carpathiju se ukrcao 1910. godine kao ložač, ne znajući da će mu to promijeniti život. Uz njega, na Carpathiji je plovilo još mnogo mornara iz ovog kraja.

- On se ukrcao na Carpathiju, to je inače bio brod koji je vozio iseljenike pravac Rijeka - New York, većina članova posade su bili ljudi s područja Labinštine.

Nono Mate nevoljko je pričao o tragediji Titanica i onome što je doživio te hladne noći. To mu je bilo zadnje putovanje. Kad se iskrcao s Carpathije sam se sebi zakleo - na more više nikad!

- Kad je prvi film o Titanicu izdan, ja se sjećam, ja sam imao svojih 6,7 godina, gledali smo taj film, kao prvo njemu nije bilo jasno da on to vidi na ekranu, a svako toliko bi bija reka - ma nije to baš tako bilo. Na slici koju su vidjeli slikanu u Rapcu, ja se sjećam da me nije htio pustiti u more. Bilo je ljeto i nije me htio pustiti, vjerojatno povezano s tom njegovom traumom na tom brodu.

Carpathija nije mnogo nadživjela Titanic. Potopila ju je njemačka podmornica 1918. godine. Ali nono Mate poživio je još dugo. Ostao je na kopnu i dobio 7 sinova. Umjesto da tuče more, zasadio je vinovu lozu.

- Pranono je došao doma s Carpathije, posadio je prvi vinograd, u tom vinogradu ima još 150 loza koje mi čuvamo i čuvat ćemo ih dok god budu rodile i budu žive.

Jer tako je živo i sjećanje na pranoneta.

- Grb medalje je grb etikete i našeg imena Matiška od starine. Ja sam 4. generacija, nadam se da će i 5. nastaviti, moj sin ili kćer, oni će sami odlučiti, a ja se nadam da će nastaviti ovu tradiciju i da će čuvati i prenijeti to i na svoje potomke dalje, rekao je Bojan Kiršić, vinar i praunuk Mate Kiršića.

Od hladnog Atlantika do pitomih vinograda Labinštine, uspomena na noneta Matu još živi. U njegovom ordenu ili jednostavno u čaši vina. Uz koju ga se s ponosom sjete njegovi potomci, piše HRT.

Titanic. Ne postoji brod koji skriva više priča i tajni. No ovo nije priča o njemu. Ovo je priča o brodu koji mu je prvi pritekao u pomoć. To je Carpathia. Do mjesta potonuća doplovila je 15. travnja 1912. godine oko 4 sata ujutro. Na njoj se našao i jedan istarski mornar koji je spašavao promrzle putnike. Njegovo je ime Mate Kiršić iz malog sela Klapčići blizu Labina, piše HRT.

- Na toj slici je moj nono Mate koji je 1912. bi na brodu Carpathia, kad se spašavalo ljudstvo s Titanica, do njega sjedim ja na rabačkoj plaži, davne 1966. godine. Ispod slike je štap. Nije volio pričati o tome ali pretpostavljamo da je taj štap dobio od nekoga ili je to neka uspomena s tog zadnjeg putovanja spašavanja ljudi s Titanica, kaže Redento Kiršić, unuk Mate Kiršića.

Za svoj doprinos spašavanju putnika, Mate Kiršić odlikovan je ordenom časti austrijske kraljice.

- To je orden za hrabrost kojim su odlikovani svi članovi posade Carpathie, tih ordena je ostalo malo, nekih 4 komada, spominje se i 7, tako da je ovo jedan od rijetkih uspomena na njega i općenito na događaj koji se desio 1912. godine, i kojeg mi čuvamo s ponosom, kao tradiciju naše obitelji, dodaje Kiršić.

Mate Kiršić na Carpathiju se ukrcao 1910. godine kao ložač, ne znajući da će mu to promijeniti život. Uz njega, na Carpathiji je plovilo još mnogo mornara iz ovog kraja.

- On se ukrcao na Carpathiju, to je inače bio brod koji je vozio iseljenike pravac Rijeka - New York, većina članova posade su bili ljudi s područja Labinštine.

Nono Mate nevoljko je pričao o tragediji Titanica i onome što je doživio te hladne noći. To mu je bilo zadnje putovanje. Kad se iskrcao s Carpathije sam se sebi zakleo - na more više nikad!

- Kad je prvi film o Titanicu izdan, ja se sjećam, ja sam imao svojih 6,7 godina, gledali smo taj film, kao prvo njemu nije bilo jasno da on to vidi na ekranu, a svako toliko bi bija reka - ma nije to baš tako bilo. Na slici koju su vidjeli slikanu u Rapcu, ja se sjećam da me nije htio pustiti u more. Bilo je ljeto i nije me htio pustiti, vjerojatno povezano s tom njegovom traumom na tom brodu.

Carpathija nije mnogo nadživjela Titanic. Potopila ju je njemačka podmornica 1918. godine. Ali nono Mate poživio je još dugo. Ostao je na kopnu i dobio 7 sinova. Umjesto da tuče more, zasadio je vinovu lozu.

- Pranono je došao doma s Carpathije, posadio je prvi vinograd, u tom vinogradu ima još 150 loza koje mi čuvamo i čuvat ćemo ih dok god budu rodile i budu žive.

Jer tako je živo i sjećanje na pranoneta.

- Grb medalje je grb etikete i našeg imena Matiška od starine. Ja sam 4. generacija, nadam se da će i 5. nastaviti, moj sin ili kćer, oni će sami odlučiti, a ja se nadam da će nastaviti ovu tradiciju i da će čuvati i prenijeti to i na svoje potomke dalje, rekao je Bojan Kiršić, vinar i praunuk Mate Kiršića.

Od hladnog Atlantika do pitomih vinograda Labinštine, uspomena na noneta Matu još živi. U njegovom ordenu ili jednostavno u čaši vina. Uz koju ga se s ponosom sjete njegovi potomci, piše HRT.

Titanic. Ne postoji brod koji skriva više priča i tajni. No ovo nije priča o njemu. Ovo je priča o brodu koji mu je prvi pritekao u pomoć. To je Carpathia. Do mjesta potonuća doplovila je 15. travnja 1912. godine oko 4 sata ujutro. Na njoj se našao i jedan istarski mornar koji je spašavao promrzle putnike. Njegovo je ime Mate Kiršić iz malog sela Klapčići blizu Labina, piše HRT.

- Na toj slici je moj nono Mate koji je 1912. bi na brodu Carpathia, kad se spašavalo ljudstvo s Titanica, do njega sjedim ja na rabačkoj plaži, davne 1966. godine. Ispod slike je štap. Nije volio pričati o tome ali pretpostavljamo da je taj štap dobio od nekoga ili je to neka uspomena s tog zadnjeg putovanja spašavanja ljudi s Titanica, kaže Redento Kiršić, unuk Mate Kiršića.

Za svoj doprinos spašavanju putnika, Mate Kiršić odlikovan je ordenom časti austrijske kraljice.
