Više od godinu dana dešava se pomor rakova duž ušća rijeke Tees i na susjednim plažama u sjeveroistočnoj Engleskoj, pa su obalni ribari pozvali vladu da konačno poduzme hitne mjere oko ovog problema. Lokalna ribarska industrija bilježi pad ulova jastoga i rakova za 95 posto, a trgovci rakovima prijavljuju uginuća u bazenima.

North East Fishing Collective (NEFC) uputio je apel ministru ribarstva Marku Spenceru izražavajući svoju ‘duboku zabrinutost‘ zbog neaktivnosti vlade da se pozabavi pomorom rakova posebice jer se sumnja moguću ulogu otrovnih kemikalija u rijeci, kojie su tamo dospjele zbog, najvjerojatnije, kontaminiranog otpada iz obližnjih industrijskih postrojenja, kao i od posljedica jaružanja zbog izgradnje luke.

Naime, otkako je lani javnost bila šokirana ružnim prizorima odumrlih algi i rakova na obalama rijeke, pokrenuta je istraga, no ništa se precizno nije utvrdilo, te su ribari ogorčeni na inertnost nadležnih.

- Pokušavamo spasiti sjeveroistočni morski ekosustav i našu ribarsku industriju od potpunog uništenja jaružanjem najotrovnije rijeke u zemlji, septičke jame industrijske revolucije, rijeke Tees. Sumnjamo da je svemu uzrok otrov koji je povezan s jaružanjem rijeke koja ima potencijal ubiti morski život na ovom području - rekao je Stan Rennie, predsjednik Udruge nautičara Hartlepoola i član NEFC-a.

Više od godinu dana dešava se pomor rakova duž ušća rijeke Tees i na susjednim plažama u sjeveroistočnoj Engleskoj, pa su obalni ribari pozvali vladu da konačno poduzme hitne mjere oko ovog problema. Lokalna ribarska industrija bilježi pad ulova jastoga i rakova za 95 posto, a trgovci rakovima prijavljuju uginuća u bazenima.

North East Fishing Collective (NEFC) uputio je apel ministru ribarstva Marku Spenceru izražavajući svoju ‘duboku zabrinutost‘ zbog neaktivnosti vlade da se pozabavi pomorom rakova posebice jer se sumnja moguću ulogu otrovnih kemikalija u rijeci, kojie su tamo dospjele zbog, najvjerojatnije, kontaminiranog otpada iz obližnjih industrijskih postrojenja, kao i od posljedica jaružanja zbog izgradnje luke.

Naime, otkako je lani javnost bila šokirana ružnim prizorima odumrlih algi i rakova na obalama rijeke, pokrenuta je istraga, no ništa se precizno nije utvrdilo, te su ribari ogorčeni na inertnost nadležnih.

- Pokušavamo spasiti sjeveroistočni morski ekosustav i našu ribarsku industriju od potpunog uništenja jaružanjem najotrovnije rijeke u zemlji, septičke jame industrijske revolucije, rijeke Tees. Sumnjamo da je svemu uzrok otrov koji je povezan s jaružanjem rijeke koja ima potencijal ubiti morski život na ovom području - rekao je Stan Rennie, predsjednik Udruge nautičara Hartlepoola i član NEFC-a.

Više od godinu dana dešava se pomor rakova duž ušća rijeke Tees i na susjednim plažama u sjeveroistočnoj Engleskoj, pa su obalni ribari pozvali vladu da konačno poduzme hitne mjere oko ovog problema. Lokalna ribarska industrija bilježi pad ulova jastoga i rakova za 95 posto, a trgovci rakovima prijavljuju uginuća u bazenima.

North East Fishing Collective (NEFC) uputio je apel ministru ribarstva Marku Spenceru izražavajući svoju ‘duboku zabrinutost‘ zbog neaktivnosti vlade da se pozabavi pomorom rakova posebice jer se sumnja moguću ulogu otrovnih kemikalija u rijeci, kojie su tamo dospjele zbog, najvjerojatnije, kontaminiranog otpada iz obližnjih industrijskih postrojenja, kao i od posljedica jaružanja zbog izgradnje luke.

Naime, otkako je lani javnost bila šokirana ružnim prizorima odumrlih algi i rakova na obalama rijeke, pokrenuta je istraga, no ništa se precizno nije utvrdilo, te su ribari ogorčeni na inertnost nadležnih.

- Pokušavamo spasiti sjeveroistočni morski ekosustav i našu ribarsku industriju od potpunog uništenja jaružanjem najotrovnije rijeke u zemlji, septičke jame industrijske revolucije, rijeke Tees. Sumnjamo da je svemu uzrok otrov koji je povezan s jaružanjem rijeke koja ima potencijal ubiti morski život na ovom području - rekao je Stan Rennie, predsjednik Udruge nautičara Hartlepoola i član NEFC-a.
