Ulovio sam ovu neobičnu hobotnicu u Bračkom kanalu pa me zanima koja je ova vrsta jer očito nije naša uobičajena.

S obzirom na to da se lijepo vide spojeni krakovi, nije teško zaključiti da se ne radi o našoj uobičajenoj hobotnici, nego o jednoj vrsti pelagične hobotnice koja se kod nas obično naziva bobuljak, dok joj je latinski naziv Tremoctopus violaceus. Ova vrsta hobotnice nije nova za Jadran, ali smatrala se dosta rijetkom jer je znalo proći i nekoliko desetljeća između dvaju prijavljenih nalaza. Doduše, to i nije neki dokaz da je rijetka, jer s obzirom na to da spada u pelagične vrste koje se više drže otvorenog mora i na manju količinu ribolovnih alata, našeg najvažnijeg sredstva za prijavljivanje neobičnih ulova koji rade u takvim područjima, lako je moguće da se ova i slične vrste nekako provuku ispod radara. Dapače, podaci pokazuju da je više nalaza pronađeno u želucima većih riba, primjerice igluna, nego kao zaseban ulov, što ukazuje na mogućnost da je ova vrsta proglašena rijetkom isključivo jer je rijetka nama, dok je prava situacija umnogome drugačija.

Druga porodica

Inače, bobuljak ne spada u istu porodicu kao naša obična hobotnica, nego je pripadnik porodice Tremoctopodidae, u kojoj postoje još tri bliska srodnika ove pelagične hobotnice. Jasno, kako spada u pelagične vrste, nije iznenađenje da se o njoj zna vrlo malo, kao i o njezinim srodnicima. Štoviše, bliski srodnik bobuljka je Tremoctopus gracialis, vrsta koja je toliko slična bobuljku da zapravo prvobitna identifikacija bobuljka nije sa sigurnošću napravljena na osnovi dostupnih fotografija, nego je zaključeno da se ipak radi o bobuljku, koji je već bio nađen u Jadranu, za razliku od T. gracialis.

Nije mutant hobotnica već Bobuljak

Za sasvim preciznu identifikaciju morali bismo imati primjerak kod sebe i napraviti DNK analizu, koja bi nam dala jasan odgovor je li naša prvobitna hipoteza bila točna. Kad već govorimo o nalazima, recimo da je jedan od prvih prirodoslovaca Giovanni Nardo pisao o bobuljku u Jadranu još davne 1847. godine, dok je nakon toga naš poznati prirodoslovac Juraj Kolombatović u nekoliko navrata pisao o njemu krajem 19. i početkom 20. stoljeća.

Nakon dugog niz desetljeća u kojima nije bilo nalaza, krajem prošlog stoljeća počinju se prijavljivati novi nalazi koji se kontinuirano nastavljaju posljednjih godina, a zanimljivo je da se najviše nalaza bilježi upravo u Bračkom kanalu, odakle potječe i vaš nalaz.

Bobuljak se uglavnom drži površinskog sloja mora i ne zalazi dublje ispod termokline (sloja mora u kojem dolazi do naglog pada temperature). Razlog tome je što je bobuljak termofilna vrsta koja voli toplije more, pa je to vjerojatno i razlog činjenice da su jadranski nalazi ove vrste zabilježeni uglavnom u ljetnom razdoblju, kad prevladavaju više temperature.

Sitni mužjaci

Zanimljivo je da postoji i ogromna morfološka razlika između mužjaka i ženki. Naime, ženke mogu narasti i do dva metra dužine, dok su mužjaci veliki tek nekoliko centimetara. Najveći mužjak dosad zabilježen imao je tek 2,4 cm dužine, a budući da su mali, nije ni čudno kako su prvi put zabilježeni tek prije dvadesetak godina.

Nadalje, fascinantan je i podatak da manji primjerci na sebi imaju nalijepljene krakove portugalske galije, izuzetno opasne meduze, koje koriste za obranu od predatora, a na čiji su otrov očito imuni. Neki znanstvenici smatraju da ti kraci nemaju samo obrambenu funkciju, nego da se njim služe i za hvatanje svoga plijena. Kod većih primjeraka od toga i nema baš koristi, pa se zato u prisutnosti predatora rašire i time dodatno koriste spojene krakove da bi izgledali što veći u nadi da će nekom grabežljivcu izgledati i preveliko. Ipak, oni koji u tome ne uspiju postaju plijen većih riba, posebice modrulja, tuna i igluna.

Hrane se manjim ribama i crvima, a iako se u želucima nekih nasukanih bobuljaka našlo i različitih vrsta algi te posidonija, smatra se da oni ipak nisu njihova primarna hrana, nego da se to slučajno dogodilo upravo zbog nasukavanja na plažama, gdje te vrste uglavnom i obitavaju.

Ulovio sam ovu neobičnu hobotnicu u Bračkom kanalu pa me zanima koja je ova vrsta jer očito nije naša uobičajena.

S obzirom na to da se lijepo vide spojeni krakovi, nije teško zaključiti da se ne radi o našoj uobičajenoj hobotnici, nego o jednoj vrsti pelagične hobotnice koja se kod nas obično naziva bobuljak, dok joj je latinski naziv Tremoctopus violaceus. Ova vrsta hobotnice nije nova za Jadran, ali smatrala se dosta rijetkom jer je znalo proći i nekoliko desetljeća između dvaju prijavljenih nalaza. Doduše, to i nije neki dokaz da je rijetka, jer s obzirom na to da spada u pelagične vrste koje se više drže otvorenog mora i na manju količinu ribolovnih alata, našeg najvažnijeg sredstva za prijavljivanje neobičnih ulova koji rade u takvim područjima, lako je moguće da se ova i slične vrste nekako provuku ispod radara. Dapače, podaci pokazuju da je više nalaza pronađeno u želucima većih riba, primjerice igluna, nego kao zaseban ulov, što ukazuje na mogućnost da je ova vrsta proglašena rijetkom isključivo jer je rijetka nama, dok je prava situacija umnogome drugačija.

Druga porodica

Inače, bobuljak ne spada u istu porodicu kao naša obična hobotnica, nego je pripadnik porodice Tremoctopodidae, u kojoj postoje još tri bliska srodnika ove pelagične hobotnice. Jasno, kako spada u pelagične vrste, nije iznenađenje da se o njoj zna vrlo malo, kao i o njezinim srodnicima. Štoviše, bliski srodnik bobuljka je Tremoctopus gracialis, vrsta koja je toliko slična bobuljku da zapravo prvobitna identifikacija bobuljka nije sa sigurnošću napravljena na osnovi dostupnih fotografija, nego je zaključeno da se ipak radi o bobuljku, koji je već bio nađen u Jadranu, za razliku od T. gracialis.

Za sasvim preciznu identifikaciju morali bismo imati primjerak kod sebe i napraviti DNK analizu, koja bi nam dala jasan odgovor je li naša prvobitna hipoteza bila točna. Kad već govorimo o nalazima, recimo da je jedan od prvih prirodoslovaca Giovanni Nardo pisao o bobuljku u Jadranu još davne 1847. godine, dok je nakon toga naš poznati prirodoslovac Juraj Kolombatović u nekoliko navrata pisao o njemu krajem 19. i početkom 20. stoljeća.

Nakon dugog niz desetljeća u kojima nije bilo nalaza, krajem prošlog stoljeća počinju se prijavljivati novi nalazi koji se kontinuirano nastavljaju posljednjih godina, a zanimljivo je da se najviše nalaza bilježi upravo u Bračkom kanalu, odakle potječe i vaš nalaz.

Bobuljak se uglavnom drži površinskog sloja mora i ne zalazi dublje ispod termokline (sloja mora u kojem dolazi do naglog pada temperature). Razlog tome je što je bobuljak termofilna vrsta koja voli toplije more, pa je to vjerojatno i razlog činjenice da su jadranski nalazi ove vrste zabilježeni uglavnom u ljetnom razdoblju, kad prevladavaju više temperature.

Sitni mužjaci

Zanimljivo je da postoji i ogromna morfološka razlika između mužjaka i ženki. Naime, ženke mogu narasti i do dva metra dužine, dok su mužjaci veliki tek nekoliko centimetara. Najveći mužjak dosad zabilježen imao je tek 2,4 cm dužine, a budući da su mali, nije ni čudno kako su prvi put zabilježeni tek prije dvadesetak godina.

Nadalje, fascinantan je i podatak da manji primjerci na sebi imaju nalijepljene krakove portugalske galije, izuzetno opasne meduze, koje koriste za obranu od predatora, a na čiji su otrov očito imuni. Neki znanstvenici smatraju da ti kraci nemaju samo obrambenu funkciju, nego da se njim služe i za hvatanje svoga plijena. Kod većih primjeraka od toga i nema baš koristi, pa se zato u prisutnosti predatora rašire i time dodatno koriste spojene krakove da bi izgledali što veći u nadi da će nekom grabežljivcu izgledati i preveliko. Ipak, oni koji u tome ne uspiju postaju plijen većih riba, posebice modrulja, tuna i igluna.

Hrane se manjim ribama i crvima, a iako se u želucima nekih nasukanih bobuljaka našlo i različitih vrsta algi te posidonija, smatra se da oni ipak nisu njihova primarna hrana, nego da se to slučajno dogodilo upravo zbog nasukavanja na plažama, gdje te vrste uglavnom i obitavaju.
