Snimila sam ovu predivnu ribu u viškoj luci pa me zanima o kojoj je vrsti riječ jer je nikad nisam vidjela do sada.

Meri I., Vis

Prema dužini leđne peraje i kratkom kljunu lako je raspoznati iglana, lat. naziva Tetrapturus belone. Pri tome nemojte iglana miješati s iglunom, lat. Xiphias gladius, koji je okruglijeg tijela i dužeg kljuna s kratkom leđnom perajom i koji može narasti puno veći i teži nego iglan. Naime, iglan naraste do 2,4 m dužine pri čemu može težiti i 70 kg, za razliku od igluna koji bi pri toj dužini puno više težio, a koji i inače može narasti dvostruko duži i skoro desetak puta teži.

Iglan se u Mediteranu smatra uobičajenom vrstom, posebice u centralnom dijelu i zapadnim obalama Apeninskog poluotoka. Ipak, rijeđi je u istočnom Mediteranu. Pliva u gornjih 200 m mora iznad većih dubina i rijetko zalazi bliže obali tako da je ovaj nalaz usred viške luke svakako veoma rijetka pojava. Moguće je objašnjenje da je pratio vodene mase iznad termokline jer se uglavnom drži toplijih slojeva pa je na taj način možda i zalutao do luke. Često ih se vidi u parovima i to se povezuje sa specifičnim načinom hranjenja, a spomenimo i da se isključivo hrani ribama.

Veoma je migratoran, pa je stoga i problematičan za proučavanje što rezultira s vrlo malo poznatih činjenica o biologiji i ekologiji ove vrste. Pretpostavlja se da se mrijesti u centralnom Mediteranu zimi i u proljeće. Nikad nije pronađen izvan Mediterana pa se time smatra mediteranskom endemskom vrstom, dok mu začudo Jadran nije omiljeno područje te je kod nas dosta rijetka vrsta, svakako manje rasprostranjen nego slični iglun.

Snimila sam ovu predivnu ribu u viškoj luci pa me zanima o kojoj je vrsti riječ jer je nikad nisam vidjela do sada.

Meri I., Vis

Prema dužini leđne peraje i kratkom kljunu lako je raspoznati iglana, lat. naziva Tetrapturus belone. Pri tome nemojte iglana miješati s iglunom, lat. Xiphias gladius, koji je okruglijeg tijela i dužeg kljuna s kratkom leđnom perajom i koji može narasti puno veći i teži nego iglan. Naime, iglan naraste do 2,4 m dužine pri čemu može težiti i 70 kg, za razliku od igluna koji bi pri toj dužini puno više težio, a koji i inače može narasti dvostruko duži i skoro desetak puta teži.

Iglan se u Mediteranu smatra uobičajenom vrstom, posebice u centralnom dijelu i zapadnim obalama Apeninskog poluotoka. Ipak, rijeđi je u istočnom Mediteranu. Pliva u gornjih 200 m mora iznad većih dubina i rijetko zalazi bliže obali tako da je ovaj nalaz usred viške luke svakako veoma rijetka pojava. Moguće je objašnjenje da je pratio vodene mase iznad termokline jer se uglavnom drži toplijih slojeva pa je na taj način možda i zalutao do luke. Često ih se vidi u parovima i to se povezuje sa specifičnim načinom hranjenja, a spomenimo i da se isključivo hrani ribama.

Veoma je migratoran, pa je stoga i problematičan za proučavanje što rezultira s vrlo malo poznatih činjenica o biologiji i ekologiji ove vrste. Pretpostavlja se da se mrijesti u centralnom Mediteranu zimi i u proljeće. Nikad nije pronađen izvan Mediterana pa se time smatra mediteranskom endemskom vrstom, dok mu začudo Jadran nije omiljeno područje te je kod nas dosta rijetka vrsta, svakako manje rasprostranjen nego slični iglun.

Snimila sam ovu predivnu ribu u viškoj luci pa me zanima o kojoj je vrsti riječ jer je nikad nisam vidjela do sada.

Meri I., Vis

Prema dužini leđne peraje i kratkom kljunu lako je raspoznati iglana, lat. naziva Tetrapturus belone. Pri tome nemojte iglana miješati s iglunom, lat. Xiphias gladius, koji je okruglijeg tijela i dužeg kljuna s kratkom leđnom perajom i koji može narasti puno veći i teži nego iglan. Naime, iglan naraste do 2,4 m dužine pri čemu može težiti i 70 kg, za razliku od igluna koji bi pri toj dužini puno više težio, a koji i inače može narasti dvostruko duži i skoro desetak puta teži.

Iglan se u Mediteranu smatra uobičajenom vrstom, posebice u centralnom dijelu i zapadnim obalama Apeninskog poluotoka. Ipak, rijeđi je u istočnom Mediteranu. Pliva u gor...
