Spomene li se školski brod Juraj Carić mnogi naraštaji učenika splitske Srednje pomorske škole vrate se desetljeća unatrag, u ranu mladost, na prve pomoračke korake na tome malome teretnjaku. Živo se prisjete plovidaba čak do Visa gdje su krcali plastične brodice iz davno pokojne Jugoplastikine tvornice u Komiži.

No, kažete li da mislite na školski parobrod Juraj Carić te iste splitske škole, nastupit će tajac i nevjerica: ma kakav sad parobrod, prvi put čujemo... Nije se tome čuditi.

Danas na Jadranu malo tko uopće zna da je postojao školski parobrod s imenom znamenitoga Jurja Carića, a njegovih plovidbi s učenicima Srednje pomorske škole nitko se i ne može sjećati, jer parobrod nikad nije ni - zaplovio!

Uistinu nesvakidašnja priča počinje sredinom šezdesetih godina 20. stoljeća kad je splitska škola tražila brod koji bi joj koliko-toliko pomogao u praktičnoj nastavi. Konačno je 1968. ususret izašla Ratna mornarica te školi darovala nekadašnji minopolagač Marjan koji je te godine bio rashodovan i brisan s flotne liste. U splitskoj Lučkoj kapetaniji brod je upisan pod imenom Juraj Carić.

U tome trenutku već je bilo prošlo pola stoljeća od polaganja kobilice za taj parobrod neobična izgleda. Valja nam se zato vratiti u ratnu 1917. godinu. Premda se Prvi svjetski rat bližio kraju Austro-Ugarska K. und K. Kriegsmarine je u Kraljevici, u brodogradilištu Ganz & Danubius, inače službenog mađarskog naziva Ganz es Tarsa-Danubius Gep-Waggon es Hajogyar Rt, naručila 14 minopolagača klase Minentender 130.

Prvi brod porinut je 27. listopada 1917., do kraja godine porinuto ih je sedam, a na početku 1918. još dva. Uz golemu oskudicu čelika i svih vrsta brodske opreme, radovi su išlo iznimno sporo. Tako su do kraja rata bila dovršena samo tri broda, sedam je nakon porinuća ostalo nedovršeno, a četiri su i dalje bili na navozima.

Tri prva broda su 1920. kao ratni plijen odnijeli Talijani, a na ostalih 11 se posve zaboravilo. Sve do 1930. godine kad britanska grupacija Yarrow kupuje brodogradilište u Kraljevici. S Ratnom mornaricom Kraljevine Jugoslavije uspijevaju dogovoriti nastavak radova na jedanaest napuštenih Minentendera 130. Već porinuti brodovi izvlače se na suho, da bi bili ponovno porinuti.

Nastava za strojare

Kao novi brodovi zaplovili su 1931. godine minopolagači Malinska, Marjan, Meljine, Mljet i Mosor, dok je šest brodova uređeno za razne pomoćne zadaće. Naš junak Marjan izvorno je naručen kao MT XXXII, a porinut je 6. studenoga 1917. godine kao MT 133.

Nakon ponovnoga porinuća i opremanja službeno je ušao u sastav Ratne mornarice 29. listopada 1930., a stvarno je postao dio flote početkom 1931. godine. Talijani su ga zarobili u travnju 1941. u Šibeniku i dali mu ime Ugliano. Preživio je sve ratne kušnje te je u veljači 1944. vraćen Kraljevskoj mornarici, vraćeno mu je i ime Marjan, da bi u proljeće 1945. bio uvršten u sastav JRM pod oznakom M 1. Kasnije se zvao i M 201, te na kraju puta M 31. Pod tim je imenom i darovan Srednjoj pomorskoj školi.

Kako nije bio spreman za plovidbu s učenicima, godine je provodio na vezu u Poljudu, a tu je nastala i fotografija koju objavljujemo.

Na Cariću su praktičku nastavu imali budući pomorski strojari, no pravo je pitanje koliko se moglo naučiti na slabašnome stapnome parnome stroju proizvedenom 1930. u tvornici Yarrow u Glasgowu. Toga su očito bili svjesni i u upravi škole, pa je Juraj Carić 1972. godine prodan Brodospasu i izrezan u Svetome Kaji.

Iste godine od Ratne mornarice je kupljen brod PB 32, jedan od petejaca izgrađenih 1952. u Splitu. Taj Juraj Carić, kojega toliki dobro pamte, otplovio je iz školske flote tek 1999. godine.

Spomene li se školski brod Juraj Carić mnogi naraštaji učenika splitske Srednje pomorske škole vrate se desetljeća unatrag, u ranu mladost, na prve pomoračke korake na tome malome teretnjaku. Živo se prisjete plovidaba čak do Visa gdje su krcali plastične brodice iz davno pokojne Jugoplastikine tvornice u Komiži.

No, kažete li da mislite na školski parobrod Juraj Carić te iste splitske škole, nastupit će tajac i nevjerica: ma kakav sad parobrod, prvi put čujemo... Nije se tome čuditi.

Danas na Jadranu malo tko uopće zna da je postojao školski parobrod s imenom znamenitoga Jurja Carića, a njegovih plovidbi s učenicima Srednje pomorske škole nitko se i ne može sjećati, jer parobrod nikad nije ni - zaplovio!

Uistinu nesvakidašnja priča počinje sredinom šezdesetih godina 20. stoljeća kad je splitska škola tražila brod koji bi joj koliko-toliko pomogao u praktičnoj nastavi. Konačno je 1968. ususret izašla Ratna mornarica te školi darovala nekadašnji minopolagač Marjan koji je te godine bio rashodovan i brisan s flotne liste. U splitskoj Lučkoj kapetaniji brod je upisan pod imenom Juraj Carić.

U tome trenutku već je bilo prošlo pola stoljeća od polaganja kobilice za taj parobrod neobična izgleda. Valja nam se zato vratiti u ratnu 1917. godinu. Premda se Prvi svjetski rat bližio kraju Austro-Ugarska K. und K. Kriegsmarine je u Kraljevici, u brodogradilištu Ganz & Danubius, inače službenog mađarskog naziva Ganz es Tarsa-Danubius Gep-Waggon es Hajogyar Rt, naručila 14 minopolagača klase Minentender 130.

Prvi brod porinut je 27. listopada 1917., do kraja godine porinuto ih je sedam, a na početku 1918. još dva. Uz golemu oskudicu čelika i svih vrsta brodske opreme, radovi su išlo iznimno sporo. Tako su do kraja rata bila dovršena samo tri broda, sedam je nakon porinuća ostalo nedovršeno, a četiri su i dalje bili na navozima.

Tri prva broda su 1920. kao ratni plijen odnijeli Talijani, a na ostalih 11 se posve zaboravilo. Sve do 1930. godine kad britanska grupacija Yarrow kupuje brodogradilište u Kraljevici. S Ratnom mornaricom Kraljevine Jugoslavije uspijevaju dogovoriti nastavak radova na jedanaest napuštenih Minentendera 130. Već porinuti brodovi izvlače se na suho, da bi bili ponovno porinuti.

Nastava za strojare

Kao novi brodovi zaplovili su 1931. godine minopolagači Malinska, Marjan, Meljine, Mljet i Mosor, dok je šest brodova uređeno za razne pomoćne zadaće. Naš junak Marjan izvorno je naručen kao MT XXXII, a porinut je 6. studenoga 1917. godine kao MT 133.

Nakon ponovnoga porinuća i opremanja službeno je ušao u sastav Ratne mornarice 29. listopada 1930., a stvarno je postao dio flote početkom 1931. godine. Talijani su ga zarobili u travnju 1941. u Šibeniku i dali mu ime Ugliano. Preživio je sve ratne kušnje te je u veljači 1944. vraćen Kraljevskoj mornarici, vraćeno mu je i ime Marjan, da bi u proljeće 1945. bio uvršten u sastav JRM pod oznakom M 1. Kasnije se zvao i M 201, te na kraju puta M 31. Pod tim je imenom i darovan Srednjoj pomorskoj školi.

Kako nije bio spreman za plovidbu s učenicima, godine je provodio na vezu u Poljudu, a tu je nastala i fotografija koju objavljujemo.

Na Cariću su praktičku nastavu imali budući pomorski strojari, no pravo je pitanje koliko se moglo naučiti na slabašnome stapnome parnome stroju proizvedenom 1930. u tvornici Yarrow u Glasgowu. Toga su očito bili svjesni i u upravi škole, pa je Juraj Carić 1972. godine prodan Brodospasu i izrezan u Svetome Kaji.

Iste godine od Ratne mornarice je kupljen brod PB 32, jedan od petejaca izgrađenih 1952. u Splitu. Taj Juraj Carić, kojega toliki dobro pamte, otplovio je iz školske flote tek 1999. godine.
