Šaljemo vam sliku nama nepoznatu školjku koju smo našli oko otoka Brača, pa bismo vas molili da nam otkrijete o kojoj je vrsti riječ.

Duško V., Slovenija

Iz slike je vidljivo da je riječ o kopitu, lat. naziva Spondylus gaederopus. To je vrlo stara vrsta jer su vrste toga roda pronađene kao fosilni ostaci još iz doba mezozoika. Iako se može naći posvuda, nije brojna pa se smatra relativno rijetkom vrstom. Zbog toga je u staroj Europi bila vrlo vrijedna, te kao takva i predmet trgovine, a najveći izvoz bio je iz područja Egejskog i Jadranskog mora. Lako je zaključiti da se uglavnom prerađivala u različite oblike nakita i ukrasa.

Ljuštura kopita sastoji se od kalcita s vanjske strane, te aragonita, također minerala iz skupine karbonata, s unutrašnje. Naraste do 15 centimetara, ali danas se teško nalaze takvi primjerci jer mu je meso vrlo cijenjeno, pa ga svi love. Živi pričvršćen na kamenitom području i teško se primijeti jer je, slično kunjki, dobro kamufliran algama.

Iz slike je vidljivo da je riječ o kopitu, lat. naziva Spondylus gaederopus. To je vrlo stara vrsta jer su vrste toga roda pronađene kao fosilni ostaci još iz doba mezozoika. Iako se može naći posvuda, nije brojna pa se smatra relativno rijetkom vrstom. Zbog toga je u staroj Europi bila vrlo vrijedna, te kao takva i predmet trgovine, a najveći izvoz bio je iz područja Egejskog i Jadranskog mora. Lako je zaključiti da se uglavnom prerađivala u različite oblike nakita i ukrasa.

Ljuštura kopita sastoji se od kalcita s vanjske strane, te aragonita, također minerala iz skupine karbonata, s unutrašnje. Naraste do 15 centimetara, ali danas se teško nalaze takvi primjerci jer mu je meso vrlo cijenjeno, pa ga svi love. Živi pričvršćen na kamenitom području i teško se primijeti jer je, slično kunjki, dobro kamufliran algama.

Šaljemo vam sliku nama nepoznatu školjku koju smo našli oko otoka Brača, pa bismo vas molili da nam otkrijete o kojoj je vrsti riječ.

Iz slike je vidljivo da je riječ o kopitu, lat. naziva Spondylus gaederopus. To je vrlo stara vrsta jer su vrste toga roda pronađene kao fosilni ostaci još iz doba mezozoika. Iako se može naći posvuda, nije brojna pa se smatra relativno rijetkom vrstom.
